Bodelwyddan Castle stands proud on the North Wales countryside, but what lurks in the corridors in the dead of night?

Bodelwyddan Castle dates back over 500 years, when it was originally built as a stone house, which over the years was added to and expanded until it became the impressive building you see today, which dates back to the mid 1800’s.

In its history, it has been used as an Army recouperation hospital for the nearby Kinmel Camp, and the gounds used as a training area for soliders – the trenches can still be seen today.

The 1920’s saw the building being used as an all girls school – ‘Lowther College’, until it was closed due to financial problems in 1982.

The Castle was then purchased by the County Council, and was restored as a museum, visitor attraction and picture gallery (the Castle is part of the National Portrait Gallery).

The interior was redesigned in Victorian decor by Roderick Gradidge.

Despite the beauty of the location, what is it that roams the Castle at night? Visitors to the castle, both in the day time and night time, have reported all sorts of phenomena. This is one location that rarely fails to disappoint, and we’re sure this investigation will be no exception. With numerous reports of poltergeist activity, full apparitions, ghostly voices, phantom footsteps and many other unexplainable events, you’re certainly in for a treat!

As with all Haunted Experience investigations, refreshments will be provided.

The event will run from 9pm until 3am. You will have the chance to take part in a number of experiments and sessions from glass divination, table tipping and dowsing to séances, lone vigils and working with the ghost hunting equipment – we’ll get you as hands on as possible and get you stuck right in!
